Biological Activity

Acalisib (GS-9820) is a potent and selective inhibitor of the class I phosphoinositide 3-kinase isoform p110δ (PI3Kδ). Targeted inhibition of p110δ suppresses downstream AKT/mTOR signaling pathways, which disrupts cell survival, proliferation, and hyperactive immune signaling. This inhibition effectively impairs disease-associated cellular functions and induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in p110δ-dependent hyperproliferative cells. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
