Biological Activity

AC-73 is an orally active, specific small-molecule inhibitor of transmembrane protein CD147. It disrupts CD147 dimerization, thereby suppressing the downstream CD147/ERK1/2/STAT3/MMP-2 signaling pathway. Inhibition of this signaling cascade suppresses cell mobility and metastatic invasion in hepatocellular carcinoma models. Furthermore, AC-73 exerts anti-proliferative activity in acute myeloid leukemia cells by inducing autophagy and enhancing chemotherapeutic sensitivity. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
