Biological Activity

A2ti-2 is a selective, low-affinity small-molecule inhibitor of the annexin A2/S100A10 heterotetramer (A2t) with an ICof. It specifically disrupts the protein-protein interaction between annexin A2 and S100A10 by targeting S100A10. Consequently, A2ti-2 impairs endocytic host-cell entry and internalization of human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16), thereby preventing productive HPV16 infection in epithelial cells. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
