A-967079 is a selective antagonist of human TRPA1 (IC50 67 nM) and rat TRPA1 (IC50 289 nM) receptors. By inhibiting TRPA1-mediated mechanotransmission in sensory neurons, it decreases the electrical responses of spinal wide dynamic range (WDR) and nociceptive-specific (NS) neurons following noxious pinch and high-intensity mechanical stimulation in rat models while exhibiting central nervous system penetration.[1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
