Rutaecarpine is an indolopyridoquinazolinone alkaloid isolated from Evodia rutaecarpa that functions as a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor. By suppressing COX-2-mediated prostaglandin E2 production, it attenuates inflammatory responses in immune cells. Downstream of this target modulation, rutaecarpine inhibits platelet aggregation and relaxes vascular smooth muscle, demonstrating broad anti-inflammatory, anti-thrombotic, and vasorelaxant biological activities. - Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
