Ketoconazole is a synthetic, broad-spectrum antifungal agent and an inhibitor of cytochrome P450-dependent enzymes involved in steroidogenesis and ergosterol biosynthesis. It disrupts fungal cell membrane integrity by blocking ergosterol synthesis and acts as an androgen biosynthesis inhibitor by impairing adrenal and testicular steroidogenesis. These inhibitory actions lead to downstream suppression of fungal cell growth and reduced systemic androgen levels. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
