Flupirtine maleate is a centrally acting non-opioid analgesic that functions as a selective neuronal potassium channel opener and N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist. By opening neuronal Kv7/KCNQ voltage-gated potassium channels and antagonizing NMDA receptors, it stabilizes membrane potential and suppresses neuronal hyperexcitability. This modulation attenuates central nociceptive processing and reduces neurotoxicity in neuronal cell models. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
