Avobenzone (Parsol 1789) is a lipophilic dibenzoylmethane derivative and broad-spectrum ultraviolet A (UVA) absorber. It absorbs UVA radiation across thewavelength range to mitigate light-induced cellular oxidative damage and cutaneous phototoxicity. Under solar irradiation, avobenzone undergoes photo-isomerization and photo-degradation, which can be altered in combination with mineral UV absorbers like titanium dioxide. Co-formulation strategies stabilize the molecule, maintaining its photoprotective efficacy against UVA-mediated oxidative stress pathways. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
