Acipimox is a niacin derivative and hypolipidemic agent that functions as a lipid-lowering regulator of lipolysis. It inhibits intracellular lipolysis in adipose tissue and reduces plasma free fatty acid availability. This suppression subsequently decreases hepatic triglyceride synthesis and suppresses VLDL secretion into the bloodstream. As a result, acipimox downregulates circulating triglyceride levels and alters lipid metabolic pathways to modulate systemic lipid homeostasis.

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
