Biological Activity

AZ 960 is a potent, ATP-competitive inhibitor of JAK2. Inhibition of the JAK/STAT signaling pathway by AZ 960 suppresses downstream phosphorylation of target proteins and downregulates anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 family members, including Bcl-2 and Mcl-1. This targeted inhibition effectively blocks cell proliferation and induces apoptosis in human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1-infected T cells.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
