79-6 (CID5721353) is a small-molecule inhibitor of BCL6 (Kd 138 μM). It targets the lateral groove of the BCL6 BTB/POZ domain, preventing the interaction between BCL6 and corepressors such as SMRT, NCOR, and BCOR. Disruption of these corepressor complexes derepresses BCL6 target genes, leading to cell cycle arrest, inhibition of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma cell proliferation, and induction of apoptosis. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
