Biological Activity

5'-Fluoroindirubinoxime is a synthetic indirubin derivative that acts as a potent inhibitor of FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3). By blocking FLT3 kinase activity, this compound impairs downstream oncogenic signal transduction through the STAT5, MAP kinase, and PI3K/AKT pathways. Consequently, FLT3 inhibition reduces cellular proliferation and promotes apoptotic cell death in FLT3-dependent hematologic malignancy models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
