Biological Activity

Domatinostat (4SC-202) is an orally active, selective class I histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor targeting HDAC1, HDAC2, and HDAC3, while also exhibiting inhibitory activity against lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1). By suppressing class I HDACs, Domatinostat promotes hyperacetylation of core histones, alters gene expression profiles, and induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in tumor cells. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
