3α-Aminocholestane is a selective inhibitor of the lipid phosphatase INPP5D (SHIP1). By blocking INPP5D enzymatic activity, it modulates the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, preventing the conversion of phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate to phosphatidylinositol 3,4-bisphosphate. This inhibition plays a vital role in regulating immune regulatory cell populations and expanding hematopoietic stem cell capacity in vivo.
