Biological Activity
2OH-BNPP1 is a small-molecule inhibitor targeting BUB1 (budding uninhibited by benzimidazoles-1) mitotic checkpoint serine/threonine kinase for cancer research. By suppressing BUB1 kinase activity, this compound disrupts spindle assembly checkpoint signaling and kinetochore recruitment during cell division. Consequently, BUB1 inhibition impairs proper chromosome alignment and segregation, inducing chromosome missegregation, mitotic arrest, and apoptosis in cancer cells. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
