Biological Activity

(20S)Ginsenoside Rg2 is a natural protopanaxatriol saponin derived from red ginseng that exhibits antiproliferative, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective activities. It modulates key cellular signaling cascades including the NF-kB, MAPK, and PI3K/AKT pathways, leading to down-regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines and cell adhesion molecules. Furthermore, (20S)Ginsenoside Rg2 suppresses cancer cell proliferation and induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis by regulating apoptotic pathway proteins. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
