2'-Deoxyinosine is an endogenous purine nucleoside and a product of DNA damage formed by the deamination of 2'-deoxyadenosine via adenosine deaminase or reactive nitrogen species. Upon accumulation, it functions as a mutagenic DNA lesion that triggers base excision repair pathways. Furthermore, 2'-deoxyinosine enhances pro-apoptotic signalling and potentiates apoptosis in HT-29 and SW620 colorectal cancer cell lines. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
