Biological Activity

(rac)-Antineoplaston A10 is a synthetic racemate of Antineoplaston A10 that acts as a Ras signaling pathway inhibitor. By targeting Ras-mediated signal transduction, this compound impairs downstream oncogenic pathways critical for cellular proliferation and survival. Inhibition of Ras signaling suppresses tumor cell growth and induces apoptotic responses across various cancer cell lines, including glioma, lymphoma, astrocytoma, and breast cancer models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
