(E)-Akt inhibitor-IV is a potent cell-permeable small-molecule inhibitor targeting the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. By blocking Akt phosphorylation and activation, it prevents the nuclear export of Forkhead box class O 1a (FOXO1a) transcription factors in tumor cells. Consequently, inhibition of this signaling network leads to suppressed cancer cell viability, robust cytotoxicity, and significant attenuation of viral replication in host cells.[1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
