Biological Activity

Ecnoglutide (XW003) is a long-acting, cAMP-biased agonist of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor. It selectively activates GLP-1 receptor-mediated cAMP signaling over β-arrestin recruitment, preserving receptor cell-surface expression and reducing agonist-induced receptor internalization. This pathway bias promotes sustained intracellular cAMP accumulation, downstream PKA signaling activation, and enhanced glucose-dependent insulin secretion while mitigating signaling desensitization.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
