Biological Activity
ADH-1 is a small peptide antagonist of N-cadherin that selectively blocks N-cadherin-mediated cell-cell adhesion. By targeting the conserved HAV binding motif, ADH-1 disrupts N-cadherin homotypic interactions and downstream cell adhesion signaling pathways. Consequently, ADH-1 inhibits cancer cell motility, migration, and invasion, while promoting apoptosis and exerting significant antitumor activity in N-cadherin-expressing cancer cells. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
