Biological Activity

Description Methyl Hesperidin is a flavanone glycoside (flavonoid) (C28H34O15) found abundantly in citrus fruits. Its aglycone form is called hesperetin.
Targets
Akt [1] PKC [1]
In vitro Methyl Hesperidin is a flavanone glycoside (flavonoid) (C28H34O15) found abundantly in citrus fruits. Its aglycone form is called hesperetin. Hesperidin and methyl hesperidin reduce TNF-alpha-induced VCAM-1 expression through inhibiting the phosphorylation of Akt and PKC. [1] Methyl hesperidin can bind to buman serum albumin (BSA) with binding constants between 18 and 34 mM/L. [2] Long-term carcinogenicity study demonstrates that methyl hesperidin shows no carcinogenicity for B6C3F1 mice in the 96-wk feeding regimen. [3]
