Biological Activity

Description

Yoda1 acts as an agonist for both human and mouse Piezo1(EC50 of 17.1 and 26.6 μM for mouse and human). Yoda1 activates purified Piezo1 channels in the absence of other cellular components.

In vitro

Yoda-1 dramatically increases the YAP expression and ECM secretion reduced by Piezo1 silencing in vitro.^[2]

Following overnight serum deprivation, the SV40-MES-13 cells are seeded on cover slips coated with either 2 kPa (soft) or 50 kPa (stiff) hydrogels, and then treated with the YAP inhibitor Super-TDU, Piezo1 activator Yoda-1, MEK1/2 inhibitor PD0325901, JNK inhibitor SP600125, or the p38 kinase inhibitor SB203580 for 48 h.
