| Description | TPE-MI (tetraphenylethene maleimide) is a thiol-reactive probe for measuring unfolded protein load and proteostasis in cells (excitation 350 nm, emission 470 nm). It exhibits proteostasis imbalance in induced pluripotent stem cell models of Huntington disease and in cells transfected with mutant huntingtin exon 1 before visible aggregate formation, and it detects protein damage following dihydroartemisinin treatment of Plasmodium falciparum. |
