Background Karyopherin α-2 (KPNA2), an adaptor protein, is a member of the karyopherin-α protein family that has a vital role in nucleocytoplasmic transport. Elevated levels of KPNA2 have been reported in a variety of malignancies, including melanoma, cervical cancer, esophageal cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, brain cancer, liver cancer, and bladder cancer.
