Specificity | Glycogen synthase Rabbit Recombinant mAb detects endogenous level of total glycogen synthase. |
---|---|
Background | Glycogen synthase (GS), a key enzyme in glycogen synthesis, is activated by the allosteric stimulator glucose-6-phosphate (G6P) and by dephosphorylation through inactivation of GS kinase-3 with insulin. It is a glycosyltransferase that catalyzes the conversion of the glucosyl (Glc) moiety of uridine diphosphate glucose (UDP-Glc) into glucose to be incorporated into glycogen via an α(1→4) glycosidic bond. |
