Description

Specificity Glutamine Synthetase Rabbit Recombinant mAb detects endogenous level of total Glutamine Synthetase.
Background Glutamine-synthetase (GS), the glutamine-synthesizing enzyme from glutamate, controls important events, including the release of inflammatory mediators, mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) activation, and autophagy. It is involved in nitrogen metabolism, acid-base homeostasis, and cell signaling across multiple species of prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Expression of GS has been noted in different tumor cells, macrophages, and adipocytes. Alterations on the GS activity are associated with severe liver and neurodegenerative diseases and its absence or malformation results in death.
