| Description | Glucagon (1-29), bovine, human (Glucagon) is secreted by pancreatic α-cells, and acts as an inhibitor of CYP7A1 by strongly stimulating HNF4α phosphorylation, which reduces HNF4α's DNA binding and transactivation of the CYP7A1 gene. It activates gluconeogenesis to maintain glucose homeostasis and energy metabolism, making it useful in research on type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). |
