Biological Activity
| Description | Aminoxyacetic acid (AOAA) is an inhibitor of malate–aspartate shuttle (MAS) that effectively suppresses MAS activity in cells. It also induces both early‑ and late‑stage apoptosis of resting and LPS‑activated microglia and impairs their energy metabolism. Aminoxyacetic acid is also an inhibitor of aminobutyrate aminotransferase and CBS (cystathionine β-synthase). |
