Description Naringin (Naringoside) is a flavanone glycoside, which exerts a variety of pharmacological effects such as antioxidant activity, blood lipid lowering, anticancer activity, and inhibition of cytochrome P450 enzymes.

In vitro Naringin is a flavanone glycoside, which gives the grapefruit juice its bitter taste. Naringin inhibits hepatic P-glycoprotein (P-gp) and some drug-metabolizing cytochrome P450 enzymes, including CYP3A4 and CYP1A2, which may result in drug-drug interactions. [1] Naringin is also an inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) release, which causes angiogenesis. [2] In addition, Naringin reduces diabetes-induced neuropathy in rats. [3]
